The Benefit Gig for the Children of Cottolengo Filipino was a Success

Music is the strongest form of magic. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything. Music has helped me through so much. There are so many songs and artists that have changed my life forever.

On December 8, 2017, I and Ken were invited by my friend Gian Carlo to the charity event with the theme “Give Love on Christmas"—a B Benefit Gig for the Children of Cottolengo Filipino,’ who happens to be one of the concert organizers under Tambayan Productions and Vapers Goal with advocacies to raise awareness about quitting smoking cigarettes over vaping and to raise funds to help those who are in need, especially children. 

From Cainta, we traveled almost 2 hours to the venue; we were given a chance to watch an acoustic gig held at the MAD Vapers PH, a shop and a restobar where you can buy many different variations and flavors of original vape juices, located in Fairview, Quezon City. He said Zel Bautista of December Avenue will be performing at the event. I felt some excitement leading up to the venue because I knew that one of my favorite local singers would be there to perform. I remember that it was my first time watching a show by my favorite band. A group of vape users are also there to support the event and their favorite local band.

Amidst the vapor surrounding the air-conditioned venue of the benefit gig, Zel Bautista beautifully sang the hit song "Dahan" and four of his heartfelt songs, and the whole crowd sang in unison. I think that was a remarkable performance that night, and everyone is waiting. Several talented local bands are also there to perform, namely Calle Onse, Llezerra, Equals, Embracing Fate, Tamales, Hoodlum, Minerva, Never Run, and Yssabelle. The local Pinoy acoustic bands sang their original compositions that night, and they had the best lyrics that gave you goosebumps or made you cry in public. Your favorite band isn't your favorite just because of the music; it's also their personalities. You love their crew as much as you love the band.

It was indeed a successful charity event, and I know that the children of Cottolengo Filipino in Montalban Rizal will be happy once they receive their Christmas gift on December 28, 2017. I and Ken will also be there to witness the giving of the gift to the children. And also, the fans who watched the show went home with a big smile on their faces, and they forgot about their problems for a little while.
