The Barber and the Boy’s Lesson on Faith

BARBER: Maybe there is no God.

BOY: Why do you say that?

BARBER: Well, if there were, there wouldn’t be so much suffering and hardship in the world.

The boy looked out the window and saw a beggar with dirty, long hair.

BOY: Maybe there are no barbers.

BARBER: Of course there are! I’m a barber.

BOY: If there are barbers, then why are there people with dirty, long hair?

BARBER: They don’t come to me. I can’t cut their hair if they don’t come to me.

BOY: Exactly. It’s the same with God. If everyone approached Him, there wouldn’t be so much suffering and hardship.

The barber paused, reflecting on the boy’s words. He realized that just as he couldn’t help those who didn’t come to him, people needed to seek God to find relief from their struggles. The boy’s simple yet profound analogy left a lasting impression on the barber, reminding him of the importance of faith and seeking help when needed
